The top 7 marking tools in Google Chrome

Capturing and tagging parts of websites, images, or articles can be helpful at work, school, or even personal research. With tools that let you tag items quickly and easily, Chrome offers a great selection of extensions.

Awesome screenshot, Chrome note

Awesome Screenshot is a great tool for capturing and tagging an entire webpage, selected text, an image, or just the visible part of a page. Once you have conquered the items you want, a new tab will open for you to add notes.

Marking Features include cropping, the use of the pen, adding shape, the arrow drawing, adding text and highlighting. When you’re done, you can quickly save, copy, or print items as either a PNG or JPG image.

Awesome screenshot also offers Chrome app for those who want an app on a launcher.

Nimbus Mark Chrome

Similar to the awesome screenshot, Nimbus also allows you to select a browser window, a page fragment, a selected area, or an entire web page. Then just click Edit button to open the entry settings in a new tab.

You can then draw shapes and arrows, add text and notes, blur and shadow, and even add numbering. Nimbus offers several options for saving a PNG image, including sending it to Google, Slack or Nimbus, saving it or printing it.

Another nice feature is that you can add your own comment and include environmental information such as URL, user representative, and platform with a simple check box.

Nimbus also has Chrome app in addition to the extension.

One-click full-page screenshot Chrome

Another great Chrome extension for capturing and tagging is a one-click full-page screenshot. Click the button on the plug-in toolbar, wait a moment for the entire screen to be captured, and then go to a new tab that includes a screenshot ready for your annotations.

The intuitive toolbar and bottom allow you to crop, rotate, or rotate the screenshot. You also have tools for drawing, adding a shape or icon, adding text, applying a mask, or applying a filter. Each note tool comes with a small pop-up menu at the bottom that lets you choose the options for that tool.

When you’re done, just press charge button to save the selected screenshot. As a bonus, you can upload your own image or file and also tag it with a single click on the entire page screen.

qClick Chrome Note

While qSnap doesn’t offer as many capture options as Awesome Screenshot or Nimbus, it does offer the same annotation options as the others. QSnap separately makes sure that when you open a pop-up window for notes, you see a list of all the captures at the bottom and switch between them quickly. If you tag and save multiple screenshots, this is a handy feature.

Once you’ve made your edits, you can save or share individual screens, or all of them at once. You can also use the QSnap plug-in to select PNG or JPG as the default image type and adjust the image to low, medium, or high.
